The Wichita Alumnae and Zeta Beta chapters both celebrated 50 years of “Sisterhood and Service” during the 2017 Founders Day Celebration.  The chapters were honored to host as its guest speaker, the Central Region’s 47th Regional Director…Soror Jacqueline A. Dillard.  Members of both chapters along with several guests from the community were captivated by Soror Dillard’s message around the theme,  “Ignite the flame and pass the Torch”.

On Saturday, January 31, 2015, the Wichita Alumnae Chapter celebrated Founders Day on the campus of Wichita State University in the Rhatigan Student Center. Theme: “To Lead, To Serve, To Empower.” Many sorors, both active and inactive were in attendance. The day began with chapter and group photos, followed by time for sorors to fellowship with one another before the Rededication service. The Rededication service, led by our chapter president Soror Emile McGill, provided an opportunity to renew our allegiance, commitment, and dedication to the principles of this wonderful Sisterhood.

GEMs & Academy

Pic#1: Delta Academy participants attended the Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) Conference at WSU on November 8th.

Pic#2: Delta Academy and Delta GEMS participated in the Martin Luther King Parade. The girls started the day by making posters based on MLK quotes. They then joined Sorors as they walked in the parade.

Pic#3: On Saturday, February 21st, Delta Academy participated in a community project called Bags of Blessings. In February, over 30 organizations across Wichita rely on Partners of Wichita to deliver hygiene item bags to their organization so that they may help distribute them to the families and individuals most in need in our community. Delta Academy filled bags with the specified hygiene items to be donated.

Pic#4: Delta Academy recognized Heart Health Month by participating in a discussion about healthy nutrition. In addition, they were joined by sorors in a Linercise class which is a fusion of line dances and exercise. They ended the day with healthy snacks.
